Guest guest
3 manifestations of the one. i sometimes wondered as a young man ... "why am i attracted to these images from india? and how is it, there is no sense of conflict here in this multiplicity, only unity?" my impressions are not so informed, more of a general nature. Chandi she is beautiful but also of course the victorious one. i see her picture every day. my altar paraphernalia i keep in a painted metal goddess lunchbox ... seriously! i found this at a local bookstore ... the top is covered with a large close-up of a goddess not unlike the cover of the chandi path book ... the sides have the goddess riding different creatures and conveyances ... the back has a multi-faced form. Shiva i also see shiva every day on the cover of the shiva puja book. such a beautiful face. i imagine this image when doing the mantra sankalpa. Kali here i have this little book by sister nivedita, still unread. this force of destruction i only came more clearly to grasp saturday in our group discussion. that this darkness is embraced and acknowledged in this way is very heartening to me, as i too have my own darkness. swamiji said recently, we all do. all 3 represent a force of stable steady awesome balanced beautiful consciousness. they are as if posing, demonstrating this to us in every possible setting. they are present in the sleep of consciousness, in the awakening of consciousness, in its full manifestation, and in its dissolution as well. om tat sat! love to all. i wish you all the best of days, every day as you merge into this unity. steve
