Guest guest
Verse 29 of Chapter 10 of the Chandi really stood out for me. Very beautiful! Then I began to wonder about the phrase "symptomatic confusion". What is symptomatic confusion? Any ideas? Anyone?
Guest guest
karen here is my take on this: symptomatic confusion is mental processing that has becomes an end in itself, in a way. what starts out as problem solving becomes a habit. the generated ideas, anticipations, doubts, etc., start to take on their own reality. as a result, both the divine reality and the basic down-to-earth problem solving is missed. mind becomes inwardly turned [to ego] and its capacity to directly "see" solutions as a visionary realist is lost. mind becomes a movie with its own drama, conflicts and resolutions. it is probabaly due to this sort of self-doubt and ambiguity we have the teachings of Zen [Katz!] etc. btw this segues into goals. a mind working on spiritually worthy goals is utilized properly and is therefore not confused. i like to always think of extreme conditions to test the validity of any principle. we could have an overwhelming calamity and also experience a sort of symptomatic confusion. it might not be apparent if such a state of biological overload would be karmically workable or what, in other words, is it due to what appears to be "our karma" or something else altogether, for example, a vaster movement in the cosmic plan. in any case, the desire to pass OUT of confusion is key, [and is very close as the desire to unite with god] no matter what is the cause. pranams! best to you both. steve c. , "Karen and Mike" <karenborak@e...> wrote: > Verse 29 of Chapter 10 of the Chandi really stood out for me.
