Guest guest
anybody out there ever have an interruption in their sadhana and have to get re-focused? what do the saints that live on the streets do, with no regular altar. they must have established one within. their hearts must be very pure, they must be able to go beyond all sorts of distractions and aggravations to hold on to their devotions in the street. i read about a lady who lived like this she was supposedly very realized but lived on the street. i think of this to lend myself a little perspective on how important i should think of external things. one desires order and cleanliness but needs that inside even more. om tat sat. love to all, namaste to all. Guest guest
Steve, This seems to be a cycle with me too. Here are three tips that I have found useful to stay in the zone 1)SATSANGA !!!! Cant be over emphasized - you NEED to hang out with the people that do the sadhana. 2)Even if not able to chant or focus on the sanskrit , read the ENGLISH translation. And oh, I have found the introduction to the Chandi Path particularly inspiring to get back into the groove. And I like to read Chapter 12 of the Chandi almost to coax myself to restart knowing all the goodies in store for me if ONLY I do sadhana. Kidding apart, the introductions are very inspiring. 3) When feeling really down and out and uninspired, I ask myself this question "What can I do to be of help at this point in time ?" and this leads to positive action, which leads to positive thoughts and motivation to keep pressing on. Hang in there ! Guest guest
That is so very true. I shrudder to think of what might become of me without re-exposure to real sadhus that do puja and tapas. It is often difficult to self generate strong sadak efforts without going to the Devi Mandir from time to time. I been absent for 26 months so far. , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > 1)SATSANGA !!!! Cant be over emphasized - you NEED to hang out with > the people that do the sadhana. Guest guest
The streets out Cheviot, Westwood and Brentwood way could make for some upscale living. There is one sadhu with a green canvas bag chuck full of little murties that he sets up under shades trees in various parks then gets down to some asanna on a black deerskin. , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > anybody out there ever have an interruption in their sadhana and > have to get re-focused? what do the saints that live on the streets > do, with no regular altar. they must have established one within. > their hearts must be very pure, they must be able to go beyond all > sorts of distractions and aggravations to hold on to their devotions > in the street. i read about a lady who lived like this she was > supposedly very realized but lived on the street. i think of this to > lend myself a little perspective on how important i should think of > external things. one desires order and cleanliness but needs that > inside even more. om tat sat. love to all, namaste to all.
