Guest guest
Dear Kalachandra, What does "integral" rice mean ? We offer uncooked rice grains when we offer akshata to the deity Om Namah Shivaya Akshatam samarpayami. We offer cooked rice when we offer bhog naivedyam to the deity Om Namah Shivaya Bhog Naivedyam samarpayami. I would be very interested to know what your practices are for your Narmadeshwar Lingam, if you could share them? Guest guest
Dear Sadhviji With my Narmadeshwar Ling, it is offered full worship every Monday and Friday. My Guru who is a Shiv devotee in India says that a life given Narmadeshwar is the only idol of worship which doesn't create any negative effects when not offered any food or any form of offerings. It is only happy with a Lota of Water daily or once a week. I cover the Narmadeshwar with sandal paste and Vibhuti. I can send you a photo if you like to see. It is the most adorable worship item in my puja room. JAI SHIV SHAMBO! HAR HAR MAHADEV! Guest guest
Kind attn: Sadhvi ji actually Bilwa tree , which u have mentioned is very holy and religious people say that we shouldnt grow it at home. that too, if it is grown in certain side like the agni corner of the plot, they say, it will have counter effect on us. ( off late, a person in chennai has discovered and patented in the US, a medicine from bilwa leaves which can cure cancer.) SO, pls check up reg. this aspect of growing bilwa at home. ( the corolary of this hypothesis is - God accepts what ever we do out of love for him. ). as per vastu, u can do some counter remidies, if u have already planted the tree and its grown. with best regards, aravind. --- Jyothi Gunturu <realizegod wrote: > Hi Dayal, > > Could you please let me know where did you get the > shiva ling? Guest guest
Dear Jay and Group, What does it mean to give life to a deity. Is it true that negative effect is created when offerings are not made. All this is very confusing to me. Dear Latha, if you could please clarify this with Swamijee also it would help. I do some very basic puja as time permits. Sometime last year I woke up I the morning and I heard this inner voice telling me to put up an old calender of MAA Durga that I had stowed away. I took it out and I was wondering where to put it and the voice kind of showed me where to put it which was on top of my altar. So I did. And for a long time after words I could feel Maa Durgas eyes move and could faintly sense some of the gestures she would make with her hands but mostly the eyes. I kind of felt like she was breathing with me.(All this is extremely personal.. Mother please forgive my ignorance in wanting to talk about this). For the past few months my puja schedule is all disrupted and I do when I can which is sometimes three or four days apart. Now Is this analogous to giving life to a deity. I can feel the connection kind of breaking up. Do you think this will generate negative effects. Few weeks ago in this group we have exchanged messages about the direction of the placement of the altar and I realized that I have my altar in the wrong direction. Almost around the same time my in-laws started harping about moving my altar because it is in the wrong direction. So now I do not know if I can just move my altar or what I should be doing. Please advice. Thanks, Ruchi Jay Dayal [dayals] Monday, July 19, 2004 11:44 PM RE: RE: Shiva puja Dear Sadhviji With my Narmadeshwar Ling, it is offered full worship every Monday and Friday.
