Guest guest
Dear All, I was reading the English translation of the Chapter 12 of Chandi today and fell in love with verses 20,21 and 22. Swamiji translates the Goddess' words : This entire narration of my glories makes my presence manifest. With full satisfaction I receive the annual worship with offerings of animals, flowers, objects of value, incense, perfumes , lights , the feeding of wise men, fire offerings , daily sprinkling of consecrated waters and the offering of other objects of enjoyment. (Here is my pause here ... in the previous paragraph the Goddess says how she is satisfied when one offers her objects of enjoyment and in the next one she says OR just give me LOVE and I am equally satisfied) Continuing Swamiji's translation : Similar is my gratification for those who WITH LOVE FOR ME recite this excellent narration or listen to it BUT ONCE ..... I felt overwhelmed when I read these lines... imagine ... Goddess telling us - I am happy when you give unto me , but I am equally happy when you just give me LOVE ! Another reiteration that Love is the most important ingredient in a prayer. That is what SHE really wants. All you need is love ... Guest guest
you are right on with the tremendous spirit of this chapter. i also took note of swamiji's underlining of this: "This entire narration of my glories makes my presence manifest." this is the essential relationship, as we give birth to the gods within ourselves. s , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Dear All, > > I was reading the English translation of the Chapter 12 of Chandi > today and fell in love with verses 20,21 and 22. > > Swamiji translates the Goddess' words : > > This entire narration of my glories makes my presence manifest.
