Guest guest
Question from Karen and Latha: Is there such a dictionary for transliterated English (for Sanskrit words), ones that uses diacritically marked transliterations? Swamiji's response : Monier Williams, published by Motilall Barnarsidass, Delhi. Follow up from Latha : Isnt this dictionary from Sanskrit - devanagari script -to English ? Can you please suggest one (if one is available) that uses the English transliteration into English. Also can you recommend an English to Sanskrit dictionary. Swamiji's response : It uses transliteration too. I don't know of any English to Sanskrit Dictionary. Sorry.

Guest guest
Thank you for your post. I have been using these online dictionaries and they are some help, not a lot, but some. I have ordered the Monier-Williams print dictionary and the CD version from India (which offers better prices) and am waiting for them. Still, with my limited background, much support is appreciated. Again thank you! , Sankar Viswanathan <sankarrukku@g...> wrote: > The University of Cologne has Monier Williams dictionery on line. The > transliteration is based on the Harvard-Kyoto .
