Guest guest
Question from Kali: In MahaChandi, the descriptive Praise of the Goddess Chapter 3,the moon is situated in a "jeweled crown". In Chapters 4 to ten we see mention of a digit or half moon but after the shield bearing a hundred moons was cut by Mother's sharp sword (chap 10) the Moon then became Mother's crown. Can you please explain the significance of the moon in this context since most of the dieties are depicted with a digit of the moon? Swamiji's response : The Moon indicates Devotion, which is the highest manifestation of divinity.
Guest guest
Wow. Beautiful. The moon expresses her devotion by reflecting her father's -- the Sun's -- light. If only we could reflect Shiva's truth, Maa's clarity, or Vishnu's consciousness into the world the way the Moon reflects the Sun's. Then we would be true devotees. Jai Swamiji! Jai Maa! Jai Chandrika! (I've always noticed the similar sounds between Chandi, and Chandrika. I'll have to ask Swamiji about that some day).
