Guest guest
Question from Brian: This is a follow up regarding the discussion on creativity and intuition. Sometimes, when I review what I've written, I recognize meaning that I did not intend. It appears to me that I am much smarter than I am (oh I didn't say that did I?). What I mean is: the symbolism of my writing seems far more powerful than I consciously intended. I have always felt that was consciousness guiding me, making me smarter than I am. If its not conscious intuition, then where does it come from? Where does this inspiration come from? From my subconscious mind? From my conscious soul? Or from somewhere else? Swamiji's response : When you get out of the way, She uses you as Her pen.
Guest guest
that is interesting. when swamiji gets out of his own way, the goddess is writing, because she is the one he contemplate and invites. if a writer is not contemplating the divine, they might get out of their own way, but someone else will be doing the writing, maybe picasso, a combination of random influences, etc. it is always the infinite. when our getting out of the way is very profound, then the infinite appears to take over. even this is from our egoic perspective. even when we do nothing the infinite is in charge, no matter how much we worry and believe we are in control of the situation. relatively large chunks of the mind become active in creativity, stress, etc. one can do more under stress, or when one is very, very relaxed. it is the "average" situation that binds and limits us. where does this come from? like a tree sprouting leaves, like your next breath. today i took a little walk. i just had to walk a bit farther, even though it was hot. i didn't know why. then, when i smelled the fragrance of some plant, it was emitting some wonderful plant smell, my lungs filled with it, i knew i walked far enough. om tat sat, even the ugly is beautiful, everything is something, even nothing is influencing us, all this one can take into account and pranam and say "thank you, thank you for having me here today as your guest." s , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Question from Brian: > > This is a follow up regarding the discussion on creativity and > intuition. > Sometimes, when I review what I've written, I recognize meaning > that I did not intend.
