Namaste Linda,

Glad you like that mantra. There is another part I did not include.

In the beginner puja books when we purify our mouth(acaman)

so that our words and thoughts will become pure we sip a little

water and say "Om Vishnu, om Vishnu, on Vishnu." This

translates as Om Consioucness, om consciousness, om

consciousness."

In the more advanced puja(Cosmic Puja) we include more

mantras for the same purification. It goes like this:

om tat visnoh paraman padam sadaa pasyanti suurayah

diviiva caksuraa tatam:

Om that Consciousness of the highest station, who always

sees the Light of Wisdom, give us Divine Eyes

Om tad vipra sa pipaanova juvigranso somindrate visnuh tat

paramam padam

Om That twice-born teacher who is always thirsty for accepting

the nectar of devotion, Oh Consciousness, you are in that

highest station

om apavitrah pavitro vaa sarvaavastham gato-pi vaa

yah smaret pundariikaaksam sa baahyaabhyantarah sucih

the Impure and the Pure reside within all objects

who remembers the lotus-eyed Consciousness is conveyed to

radiant beauty

Om sarva mangala maangalyam varenyam varadam subham

naaraayanam namaskrtya sarvakarmaani kaarayet

Om All the Welfare of all Welfare, the highest blessing of Purity

and Illumination, with the offering of respect we bow down to

the Supreme Consciousness who is the actual performer of all

action.

Om suuryyascameti mantrasya brahmaa rishi praakritischandah

aapo devataa aacamane viniyogah

Om these are the mantras of the Light of Wisdom, the Creative

Capacity is the Seer, Nature is the meter, the divine flow of

waters is the deity, being applied in washing the hands and

rinsing the mouth.

parvati will give you a better answer, until then ...

twice born means just that. you are born again. first to the

physical and the ego. then to spirit.

i find actually, we are born adn re-born over and over. especially

if we take spiritual work very seriously and are fortunate enough to

cross paths with a sincere teacher who is working on their own

awareness.

btw a thought on that. what is the best way for a

spiritual "organization" to start? here is an attempt to answer my

own question:

the best way for this to start is organically. the teacher is

working on their own spiritual path. when they hit upon the best

practice for them, and join SINCERITY with EFFECTIVE EFFORT

eventually they pass beyond the "work" on their own ego-entity and

start influencing others.

there must be no ego here, or desire to build an organization, or

spiritual empire, add members, make money, name and fame, etc.

the spiritual teacher MUST be perfectly content to sit by

him/herself in a room and radiate divinity.

it is only the extension of continuous practice, that is

always "washing" this universe of impurities, that creates

associations with others that are beneficial.

om om om this is what i see, and it is a rare combination indeed on

this earth.

"...\twice born means just that. you are born again. first to the

I believe, in this case, that "Vipra" refers to Brahmin or priest.

Brahmins are refered to as "twice born" in the scriptures.
