Dear Brian,

Thank you for that synopsis of the story as well as your

entertaining comments :-) . I would like to supply some of the

missing pieces here.

> Well, up in the Go-Lok (that's the sphere of light, where Vishnu

lives), Vishnu's old friend (who's name I'll never remember in a

million years, he's a cobra snake with seven heads I think)

Latha adds in - His name is VASUKI

> Ultimately, to save the seventh baby, Vishnu asks Yog-Maya to move

the seventh baby to another woman's womb (the elder wife of Devaki's

husband, don't ask me to explain ... their society was different

from ours).

Latha adds in - In our society , Rohini (the 7th baby's mother )

would be called a surrogate mom. Not very different from our present

society really.

>

> Then, on her eighth pregnancy, when Krishna is born, Yog-Maya puts

Devaki's husband (a prince who's name slipped my last functioning

neuron)

Latha adds in - His name is VASUDEV

There !

BTW didja know that KAMSA is an acronym for - Kansas Association of

Middle School Administrators - NOT a good name for anything

involving lil kids hee hee .

Jai Maa !

Jai Krishna !

He will win your heart over as surely he captured the hearts of the

Gopis, Radha, Meera and others.

We just saw Radha for the first time last night.

His surrogate Mom and Dad are back to thinking of his thievery as childish

pranks. I guess its all perspective.

Vasuki? I've never heard of him, who dat?

My society comment is that Vasudev has two wives, an elder Rohini and a

younger Devaki. Thus different than ours. Heh.

Why do they spell Kans name in the subtitles with an 'N' when you spell it

with an "M"?

Thanks for filling in the blanks, maybe my neuron will remember better now.
