the gratitude attitude

it seems that maybe hidden in this little word swamiji used to

describe his favorite attitude is a lot of bliss.

i take short walks on my break at work. so i contemplate that word,

gratitude. there must be a reason swamiji picked that word. after

all, there are so many words to choose from!

not all that long ago, maa sent me blessings to "be hanuman." so i

would "be hanuman" on my walks. really, imagination and feeling are

good things to use in this way.

so what is it to feel and be grateful? everyone will find this out

for themselves if they want.

for me, it seemed very linked to god realization. svahaa! i see and

appreciate this now. i am not working for the future. i love you NOW.

this is the feeling.

also from a mortal perspective: i am thankful to be alive now. i have

been given this moment. what a miracle! there are beings that love

me! look at that tree! cars, people, all around! what kind of dream

is this? of all the possible moments ... i have been given this one

to experience. it really is a wonder.

why is this a benefit? in that moment of gratitude, where is the

misery, the worry, even the anxiety to advance in any way? it is

displaced. displaced by a present communion with your own merging of

individual life with the unlimited.

svahaa! YOU are god. blessings to all of you, all of us. thank you to

shree maa and swamiji for bringing us together.
