Guest guest
Namaste dear Online Retreat Participants, The retreat is coming nearer everyday and it is time for us to start planning and preparing for this event. Preparation includes pre-planning so that you can devote more of the retreat days in sadhana - this means paying off your bills, informing dear ones and getting their blessings to restrict phone calls, parties and socials ,organizing your work load, and so much much more. It also helps to set the tone for the week of sadhana ahead. So can everyone please share how they are starting any prep work ? Also , as mentioned in the document in the Files section regarding the retreat , our tangible seva is a part of the schedule. I was wondering how many of you would be interested in participating in a seva directive from the Mandir - I do have two responses, but if more of you are interested we could use the next few days to define your seva. It would be great , if people could write to me separately regarding the kind of seva they are planning to do (whether suggested by the Mandir or otherwise) so that we can run it by Swamiji and get his blessings on every mini-project - whether it be a service to your local soup kitchen or assisting in any editting work for Swamiji for his latest book or doing any other kind of creative work . Please write to me offline at lathananda and I can compile and forward the list to Swamiji. Also this would be a good time to get the books suggested for the retreat if you dont already have them. It would give the Mandir time to get the books across to you before the retreat. Any other suggestions / input / feedback for the preparation is welcomed . Let us give the best that we can to make this a wonderful experience for each of us and each other. Jai Maa Latha
Guest guest
Here are some planning things I am looking at, might be useful to share this with others. First and foremost seems to be, getting it "approved" by family members. Now, I do know Ramana and many great spiritual beings walked away into the sunrise, so to speak ... but my own personal attachments are too great, so I must make arrangements ... besides, there are duties involved, we can assume in a way, they are God- given, and that they arise as the present manifestation. So what else? getting myself clear about the time frame: 4:00 am Mon 23 to 10:30 pm Friday that week. Here is something I better get going with, if it is already not too late: gathering recommended source materials: I have the Shiva beginner; do not have any of the videos ... also the audio, not sure if that is on the one Shree Maa cd or not ... all this is on my "Prep To Do List" [the one I am doing right now!] My other thing is, going over EACH DAY ... how am i going to do this? My work schedule changes each day, I have to take care of my daughter, etc. This will be quite detailed planning. A blend of flexibility, creativity, and patient perseverance. Taking care of bills, yes I can do that ... also will need to explain more to the family I will want to be on the quiet side [this might be a tough sell, as they would say.] My daughter can sit with me while I do an puja or meditation, so that is a good thing. The main thing is, to do this without burdening anyone else. Also, where will I be each day at 6:00 for our online meetings, some days I am on the road then and might have to tune in at least 5-10 minutes late. Details, details, God is in the details!
