Guest guest
Dear All, My profuse apologies - I was on the road most of last week and got very little time online, and so couldnt publish some of the details on the retreat starting 23rd Aug. Weeeeel , so now ya'll all know MY preparation for the retreat. Most of the details are already in the file "Online Chandi Retreat" in the Files section of the group - here I am giving some further information for the retreatants - the page numbers for the chapters referred to in the Sadhana , details on Pranayam and Baddhakonasan. FYI - We will discuss this further in today's kickoff meeting at 6 pm Pacific Time . Please login to your messenger and add 'chandimaakijai' and 'devnath9' to your buddy lists if you have not already done so. It would be great if we could all login atleast 5 mins prior to smooth out technical difficulties. OK - here it goes - the details of the Sadhana. ========================================= Chapter from the Chandi Path - and Page numbers (from the latest edition 2001) Devata Pranam - Page 14 to 33 Devi Kavach - 56 to 71 32 names of Durga - 361 to 363 RgVedoktam Ratri Suktam - 86 to 88 Navarna Vidhi - 107 to 118 Episode 1 (Chapter 1) - 119 to 143 Episode 2 (Chapter 2,3 and 4) - 144 to 191 Episode 3 (Chapter 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13) - 192 to 302 RgVedoktam Devi suktam - 317 Siddha Kunjika Stotram - 370 to 377 Pranamah -387 ----------------------------- The Seedha Path consists of the following chapters Devata Pranam Devi Kavach (not strictly a part of the Seedha Path but a really nice to have) Rg ratri suktam Navarna Vidhi Episode 1 Episode 2 Episode 3 Navarna Vidhi - Page 305 to 316 Rg devi suktam Siddha Kunjika Stotram Pranamah -387 ------------------------------- Pranayam Details Inhale for one length of the Mantra (Om Aim Hrim Klim Chaamundaaye Vicce ) . When exhaling chant one verse or two verses from the Chandi. Keep this inhalation/exhalation rhythm consistent throughout the chanting. A verse typically consists of a couplet of lines - 32 syllables in length . Note , if you are chanting this text for the very first time , it is understandable that you might want to chant only one quarter (8 syllables) or one half (16 syllables) to the breath. You are strongly encouraged to listen to Swamiji's chanting to get familiar with the words. - Baddhakonasan Sit on the floor with your legs stretched in front of you. Then fold your legs at the knees with the soles of the feet pointing at each other. Bring the soles together and bring the two feet as close as possible towards your pelvic region. Let gravity do its work and let the knees fall toward the ground as much as possible , but do not strain too much. This pose is excellent for doing japa. ------------------------ Jai Maa See you at 6 pm Love Latha
