Guest guest
Question from Steve: Can anything be said now, on meditation in the absolute awareness, on meditation on the form of the Ishta Deva, in other words, our esoteric contemplation that is unsupported by the articles of the alter, or, words of recitation or mantra? And, the transition of the Istha Deva to the dissolution of that form, or, maybe better said, the Ishta Deva revealing her own infinite fullness? Swamiji's response : Ramakrishna used to sing a beautiful lyric: How many books, but how can they contain You? Sure, much can be said. But how valuable is it? Guest guest
isn't is strange, it is like a giant lingam in the center of everything, it is beyond large, it is everywhere, so large we cannot point to it. when we do the chandi i guess, we are making a gesture, we are inside that lingam then. om om om it is a beautiful lyric, it cannot contain you, it cannot be contained ... books to the ceiling .... yes, swamiji, what's the use without happiness? ... words and thoughts about this are useless, i think i see. so the answer must be, "no value" ... unless it is like some kind of abstract art, or a song ... but that cannot be used to pull a wagon ... maybe that does not even inspire anyone. it's like having a god with no name, the advaita without the bliss. no value, swamiji. steve , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Question from Steve: > Can anything be said now, on meditation in the absolute > awareness, on meditation on the form of the Ishta Deva, in > other words, our esoteric contemplation that is unsupported by the > articles of the alter, or, words of recitation or mantra? > And, the transition of the Istha Deva to the dissolution of > that form, or, maybe better said, the Ishta Deva revealing her own > infinite fullness? > > Swamiji's response : > Ramakrishna used to sing a beautiful lyric: How many books, but how > can they contain You? > > Sure, much can be said.
