Guest guest
Check out Devi Mandir's website for the 108 names of Kali. http://shreemaa.org/bookstore.htm You will find the 108 names as well as the 1000 names of Kali in the Kali puja book. There is also a beautiful CD available of Shree Maa singing the 1000 names of Kali. It is also highly recommended. There are 2 major Navaratris celebrated. One is in the fall and one is in the spring. The fall navaratri begins Oct. 14 and ends Oct. 21, 2004. There are two smaller ones in winter and summer. Nava means 9 and ratri means night. Since Navaratri means 9 nights you can also make your own navarati. You can start on day 1 of the moon cycle and end on day 9 or you can start on day 6 of the moon cycle and end on day 15. Kali puja is good to do on the new moon or no moon called amavasya. This occurs on day 15 of the dark fortnight or krishna paksha when the moon is dark. I will check with Shree Maa about Tuesday at midnight. Thanks for your inquiry.
