Guest guest
here is an idea about planning, maybe parvati can say if this is a good one or not. anyway, here is my inspiration: in each 24 hour period, set aside 1/2 hour with yellow pad and pencil, and: plan. eventually, the life in devotion will be facilitated and accelerated via organization of one's individual circumstance. my hope is over time, the ideas for planning will filter and mature and become both pragmatic but also unearth inspiring goals [chruning the cream in the process.] the next time circumstances change, the experience of planning like this will carry on to the next life change, and there will be knowledge managing the variables, and the devotee can once again solve their own problems. we do not live in ashrams, we are not in a society where we cannot work [at this moment in time.] so, the goddess requires us to call upone creative capacity to illuminate her presence in any condition. these are our conditions. like soil for a plant. maybe it is rocky. the plant will adapt. because the plant loves to live. devnath mentioned a sense of plowing thru "stuff" in meditation, etc. this hints at a sense of purpose. i see this sense in maa and swamiji. how to awaken this sense of conviction in action? and yes, w/o self-deprecation. om om om, love to you all. maybe if ardis sees this she will also have a thought. thanks also again to latha for support and managing so much here for her gurus and the cyber-sangha. one last thought is, this issues seems so important ... i noted swamiji's unusually long reply on the topic ... it might be worth some sort of forum activity ... as it seems to be one of the huge determinants in one's relative success in sadhana activities. 'how does the individual devotee maximize devotion in the unique circumstances the goddess has given them?" once again, jsut a thought, am interested in anyone's perspective on this. pranams, bingoananda
Guest guest
Namaste Bingoananda, Glad you got inspired to write your goals. Here is a recent post on the subject by Swamiji: While being efficient in our present endeavors, so we don't have to repeat them again, we should be organizing and planning so we can minimize or eliminate those activities that we feel are divergent from our spiritual aspirations. A clear list of goals will be very helpful, including a definition of the economic ramifications of pursuing such goals, and then it will be easy to arrive at a budget, from which you will know how much income you actually require to accomplish your objectives. JayaDeva also had a good idea with the spiritual diary. That is a good plan, too, to be like the plant. Firmly rooted in the truth always growing towards the light no matter where you are planted. , "Steve Connor" <sconnor@a...> wrote: > here is an idea about planning, maybe parvati can say if this is a > good one or not. > > anyway, here is my inspiration: in each 24 hour period, set aside > 1/2 hour with yellow pad and pencil, and: plan. > > eventually, the life in devotion will be facilitated and accelerated > via organization of one's individual circumstance. > > my hope is over time, the ideas for planning will filter and mature > and become both pragmatic but also unearth inspiring goals [chruning > the cream in the process.] > > the next time circumstances change, the experience of planning like > this will carry on to the next life change, and there will be > knowledge managing the variables, and the devotee can once again > solve their own problems. > > we do not live in ashrams, we are not in a society where we cannot > work [at this moment in time.] so, the goddess requires us to call > upone creative capacity to illuminate her presence in any condition. > these are our conditions. like soil for a plant. maybe it is rocky. > the plant will adapt. because the plant loves to live. > > devnath mentioned a sense of plowing thru "stuff" in meditation, > etc. this hints at a sense of purpose. i see this sense in maa and > swamiji. how to awaken this sense of conviction in action? and yes, > w/o self-deprecation. om om om, love to you all. maybe if ardis sees > this she will also have a thought. thanks also again to latha for > support and managing so much here for her gurus and the cyber- sangha. > > one last thought is, this issues seems so important ... i noted > swamiji's unusually long reply on the topic ... it might be worth > some sort of forum activity ... as it seems to be one of the huge > determinants in one's relative success in sadhana activities.
