Guest guest
My thanks to all for your overwhelming response on detachment - gave me a lot of food for thought. Here is another question that I have been pondering on - what is Right Action ? ie how do we know that what we are performing is the correct and dharmic way doing something ? Any ideas , thoughts , suggestions ? Here is a parable I saw on the web on right action and wanted to share with you. My thanks to the unknown author. Jai Maa ======================================================= A Forest encounter Three friends were going through a forest, they heard a tiger's growl. One of them said " Friends, we are in great danger, the tiger is coming our way". The second one said " There is no reason to loose hope, let us pray". The third friend said " Look, this tree, Lets us climb on it and save ourselves, it is Gods Grace that we are next to this tree". Insight - The first friend has good intuition but no belief in divine protection. The second friend is a faithful, devotee of God. The third friend , knew that right actions are to be taken keeping in mind the grace of the divine l. Success comes to the person who caries out action based on devotion and Knowledge. ==============================================

Guest guest
I think right action occurs when we follow intuition. Wrong action may occur (but may not) when we ignore or can't feel our intuition. Brian _____________ No banners. No pop-ups. No kidding. Guest guest
I believe it was Thiruvalluvar who said that a perfect act is one that meets these two criteria: brings harm to none and does at least some good for someone. this is a great way to assess what you are up to. jayadeva

I think this is true... but also I think, with right action our intuition sharpens... whatever that right action may be... doing a good deed, or following that gut feeling... etc etc... Likewise continuous wrong actions may cease our intuion to some degree if not all together. Thus being in tune with ourselves and God, listening to our inner voice, helps us follow intution... gosh... did that make sense... lol.. hope i didn't sound too new ageish... Guest guest
I don't believe our ability to feel intuition (conscious messages) is at all influenced by past or future. As Eckhart Tolle says, "You are right here in this present moment." However, I do know it takes practice being in the moment and looking around our attachments and afflictions to grope for the subtle intuition beneath it all. I don't feel its good to think that you've been given de-merits or been pulled away from God just because you made a mistake. But yeah, there is a learning curve toward full surrender if you wish to take some of your mind to enlightenment with you. *hugs* Brian At 12:35 AM 8/28/2004, you wrote: In a message dated 8/27/2004 9:14:11 PM Central Standard Time, brian (AT) soulspark (DOT) org writes: I think right action occurs when we follow intuition.
