Guest guest
Dear Satsang Family, Yesterday, finally (after two months of purification preparations) my Narmadeshwar Lingam received pranapratistha from the Mahalakshmi Temple Shiva Priest. One of my teachers has a permanent homa kund in her backyard, where we have (so far) held a Chandi Homa, then a Ganesha Homa and abishekam and, yesterday, Rudra Homa and Narmadeshwar Lingam abishekam and pranapratistha. It was quite a wondrful surprise that the parents of two sets of particpants were visiting from India, so we had lots of Indian ladies, making delicious food for afterwards and everyone so happy to be here in the US and sitting at a Homa fire, instead of on the tilt-a-whirl in Disneyland! The Rudra Homa was very powerful; at one point a column of fire emerging from the pit and rushing up towards the offering ladle (sorry, can't remember what it is called). During the abishekam, the priest told us this lingam is Lord Kashi Vishvenath....I was just so happy to hear this name, as I remember, with great delight and longing, sitting in a small boat one full-moon night and watching the Arati on the main ghat in Benaras (Kashi). After Arati, the two of us who had gone out in the boat began to sing, "Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo, Kashi Vishvanata Kange" and the boatman got so happy...because this is a chant from near his village. So now I can chant this all I like to make the Shiva Lingam feel at home in my puja room. After the abishekam, all of the ladies in their saris chanted a VERY rousing version of the Lingastakam...."Oh," I thought, "this is the Devi's Shiva Lingam"...it was as though Ma Durga had manifested in the bodies of all of these very conservative and dignified ladies and, suddenly, made it clear......well, perhaps at the Temple it is the men who are chanting the Rudram and doing the formal worship...but it is the LADIES who are the "power behind" them. The priest was very very happy that I had spent the week preceding the homa/abishekam doing the retreat with all of you and especially happy that I had done the Shiva Puja everyday. So, thank you all (and, of course, especially Shree Maa and Swamiji) for the support of your sadhana. Thanks, especially to Latha for organizing all of this and to Steve, for his "spanda" about the retreat. This Shiva Lingam will always carry the wonderful bhav of this satsang group . best love to all, sadhvi
Guest guest
Jai Shiv Shambho Sister Sadhvi! Very delightening to hear about your Narmadeshwar Lingam. It will do wonders for you. And you are so true....Ma Durga does manifests in human bodies of her choosing from time to time whether the person is a male or female...this is from my very personal experience. During the puja we had at our home last weekend... the aura was such that we all felt the presence of Devi Ma amongst us and this was also confirmed when Ma Durga, Ma Kali and Ma Ganga had manifested in many people who were present there during the drum beating and dancing and aarti before I was piercied with Trishul in my ears, and mouth arosss, total of4 trishuls. I was also amongst the ones who were manifested and does not recall neither felt any pain or recall any moments of what has happened during the puja until such time shanti paath was sung to visarjit the Maa from many people who were there. It was an evening I would never forget whole ofmy life. Again, congratulations on your Shiv Lingam and I pray that Lord Ashutosh bestows his blessings upon you and your family and you have a very rewarding, prosperous and happy life.remember, a happy person is the richest person. Remember, Lord Shiv is called Ashutosh because he is such a God that is pleased with only water...after all is the the Supreme Bhole Naath and the love ofmy Maa Durga.
