Guest guest
Dear Nityashakti, I was so enjoying reading your account of all the homas and then I came across the point where you talked about singing this song: Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo, Kashi Vishvanata Kange If you could send me the words to this song, I would be filled with joy. I have it on a tape, and I try to sing along, but just seeing the title I realize I have been singing it wrong. Since I don't know Sanskrit, I have to go by what I hear, but what I hear is not always the actual way the words go. Even just having the title helps me because I was singing "Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo, Kashi Vishva (mumble, mumble) Ghange," so see I had it all wrong. Anyway, I would be so happy if you could send me the words. Shanti ~ Linda

Guest guest
, Ardis Jackson <anandamama@e...> Speaking of children singing this with gusto.... About a year and a half ago, when my eldest son was around 8, I brought him to a kirtan, chanting group. I had led a ganesha chant and some others had led some, too. Then, Jayadeva asked if anyone else wanted to lead a chant and my son said "Sure, I'll do one!" I was stunned. But, how did he know any chants? We hadn't planned this (altho we were listening to a Krishna Das CD in the car ride over), he's so very shy...yada, yada. So as all the adults in the room looked at him he said "We'll do the Hara Hara Mahadeva Shambo chant, it goes like this...and he ends up leading this really lovely call and response chanting that was truly inspired and inspiring. Who knew!? Guest guest
That touches my heart, Lynne. It sounds like he was really inspired. Once I "kidnapped" one of the children from the Mandir so I could take her in my car and play Kirtans on the tape player in my car for her. She really enjoyed them.
