Guest guest
Taking a sankalpa can be very helpful in persevering through any endeavor, worldly or spiritual. Taking a sankalpa means we make a firm determination or promise to fulfill a certain goal and we make every effort to do so no matter what. If I make a spiritual sankalpa for instance: I may say that I will do the beginner Shiva puja for 1 month or recite the Lakshmi Astakam 3 times every day or perform Hanuman puja every Tuesday and Saturday, or recite part of the Chandi path. The sankalpa we take must be something we want for ourselves or others. It is okay to start out small. As we fulfill one sankalpa we gain more will power for longer sankalpas. Most important is that faith in ourself increases. With faith, we can cross this worldly ocean of existence. As Swamiji says, "Do and get." The more we do, the more we get." Kripaa. This is grace. As you sow, so shall you reap. In the Chandi, the Praise That removes the Pin , Atha Kiilakam, verse 8 it says: As one gives, so in return one does receive, and by no other means is She pleased. The more we give our love to Her, the more she is pleased. Have perseverance dear cyber friends!
Guest guest
do and get, yes that is so very true. parvati so many things you say threaded in your post are worth high- lighting: "the sankalpa we take must be something we WANT" ... desire is the inner force of all this, god's desire to return to himself. sometimes, our desire is our own desires change; naturally this can cause friction. "most important is faith in ourselves increases" ... how beautiful this is, we are involved in a spiritual endeavor with gurus and friends that see the need for that. if you are dealing with tamasic elements in yourself and your environment, hitting it with a hammer is not effective! comparing your circumsances with another's negatively is not effective, as your particular circumstance are the present expression of god, your karma, or a combination. this all falls under the category 'self- deprecation.' we exist to fail: jesus on the cross; we exist to succeed: jesus rising. this is the nature of our life-long sankalpa to know god. sankalpas as maa and parvati explain it are a very powerful thing, as they gather the heart of your desire into a positive purpose, one that hurts no one, and does only good. if the will is not sufficiently gathered, there can be a sense of drudgery,. this is obviously not desirable. i would say then, it is important to work on your inner sense of things, and not be exclusively focussed on outer form. the outer form follows the desire, at least for those of us not acculturated to spiritual life in our daily environment. we wish for joy leading to peace and awareness of the real unity. that is my impression, parvati might add or say something different here. s , "parv108" <parv108> wrote: > > Taking a sankalpa can be very helpful in persevering through > any endeavor, worldly or spiritual.
