Dear All,

Jai Maa !

We still have a few slots remaining and ideally it would be great if

more people filled in the slots . I have already given some people

double duty and added a '?' next to their names - this means anyone

new that would like this spot is more than welcome to do so.

There are still some blank slots left - can some people volunteer to

do double duty for the unclaimed slots ? I will put a '?' next to

your names so that if someone who hasnt already volunteered does so ,

they get a preference over those doing double duty.

Jai Maa!

 

I just want to say that I'm really happy that we're doing this group sankalpa

tomorrow. Not only is it the anniversary of this email group, but it is also

the anniversary of 9/11. I pray that the positive vibrations invoked through

our chanting will encircle the Earth in gentle waves of healing and

purification. May Divine Mother's pure love give comfort to all who suffered

due to 9/11, to all who suffer from any violence, and to all beings who are

suffering in any way at all.

 

There's a Vedic prayer that I learned from one of the Durga Puja books. It

goes:

 

Sarvesham svastir bhavatu

May all beings everywhere experience the most excellent life-circumstances.

Sarvesham shantir bhavatu

May all beings everywhere have peace in their worlds, peace in their

countries, peace in their homes, and peace in their hearts.

Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu

May all beings everywhere see auspicious sights, hear auspicious sounds,

speak auspicious words, think auspicious thoughts, and perform auspicious

actions.

Sarvesham purnam bhavatu

May all beings everywhere receive everything they need in abundance and

experience perfect contentment.

 

I chant these prayers after every practice session I do, with the thought that

the merit generated by my chanting/japa is being transmitted to the entire

world. I also do the following prayers...

 

Sarve bhavantu sukhinaha

Sarve santu niramayaha

Sarve bhadrani pashyantu

Ma kaschid duhkha bhag bhavet

 

May all beings be happy and blissful; may they be free from all diseases. May

all beings be surrounded with auspiciousness, and may they be completely free

from all suffering.

 

Durjanah sajjano bhuyat

Sajjanah shantim apnuyat

Shanto muchyeta bandhebhyo

Muktash chanyan vimochayet

 

May any cruel and vicious beings become gentle and kind. May the kind ones

become peaceful. May the peaceful beings attain the highest liberation, and may

the liberated ones continue to lead all others to perfect enlightenment.

 

Sarvastaratu durgani

Sarvo bhadrani pashyatu

Sarvah kamanavapnotu

Sarvah sarvatra nandatu

 

May all beings pass over every kind of obstacle or difficulty, may they achieve

all their noble wishes. May all beings everwhere rejoice in perfect happiness!

 

Om shantih shantih shantihi

 

May there be peace in every realm, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

 

Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu (3x)

 

May all beings in all the realms be happy!

 

In the Vedas it is said that "vasudhaika kutumbam" - "The entire universe is

one family". May our chanting go towards reducing the suffering of all our

brother- and sister-beings in this world. Let Mother Earth be comforted by our

noble sadhana, may She be in peace so that we may all be in peace.
