You asked about the book by Linda Johnsen that contained the

information on satsang. It's The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hinduism.

She also wrote Daughters of the Goddess: The Women Saints of India.

Shree Maa is on the cover of that book and there is a great section

about Maa.

Dear Karen,

Oh, thank you for sharing not only the name of the book you previously

referenced, "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hinduism." I actually

already have that in my Amazon wish list area, but I was also very

interested to find out about the book on Meditation. I am aware of

the other one about the Goddess tradition, but now I shall have to

put the Meditation one in my wish list as well. I have Linda

Johnsen's book about The Women Saints of India, and the picture of

Shee Maa on the cover is one of my favorite pictures of her. I also

like the place where she describes her own experience with Shree Maa

as Maa being almost invisible.

Several years ago when I went to Seattle to see Shree Maa and Swami, I

had this same experience. We knew they were coming. Some people were

standing in a line ... I was one of them ... hoping to see Shree Maa

walk by. Much time passed and nothing happened, so the stander uppers

began to talk and mill about. I felt this "presence," a light brush on

my awareness, nothing more. I turned around, and Shree Maa was

standing right next to me, smiling as she made her way through the

crowd. I did not even hear her coming. None of us did. It was

amazing. But then of course, when the bhajans start, Shree Maa and

Swami can both become very enlivened, even raucus. And we did raise a

ruckus singing that day.

I am sad they are not traveling right now because I don't know when I

will get to see them again, and I very much want to. But

participating in this group makes me feel I am a part of the Devi

Mandir family, and what a wonderful family to be part of. Jai Maa ~

Linda
