i chanted Chapter 4 today as part of the Birthday sankalpa of the

group ... took me all of ten minutes.

Dear Group,

It is hard to find words to convey my experience in participating in

this Birthday Sankalpa. To do it I had to give up something else I

wanted to do that evening, which is neither here nor there, but in

the past I probably would have not done that. I have no puja except

on my kitchen counter (I live in a trailer), and I had chosen to do

my chapter in the bedroom so I could be private.

It was really astounding, and this is the power of satsang, I believe.

Everything changed. I was reading/chanting the Sanskrit and then the

English of my chapter, and it seemed that the meaning of the words

penetrated more deeply into my soul. I did a small preparation,

telling Mother, in essence, what there are several parts of Chandi

chapters devoted to: I have no puja; I don't know how to approach

You; I don't know if I will do it "right," but I am doing it for you,

so I know you will take this action for what it is.

This truly was a satsang because I was very aware that so many others

were participating in this throughout the day. I couldn't wait until

8:00 pm so I could do my part. I was very surprised to find that I

was able to sit on my bed in half lotus for 20 minutes. The most I

have managed before is 5 or 10. I think Mother gave me that resolve,

despite my raspy voice, my sneezing, etc. (I have a bad cold.)

Even though I do this almost every night ~ reading the Chandi, this

was different, and I believe the difference was in my attitude. It

made me want more. That is how it works, so Swami has said. And,

regarding satsang, could there be any better example? Wow! Thank you

all for being in the group and for the group presenting me with this

most marvelous opportunity. Jai Maa ~ Linda
