Any Stories on Ganesh? - How he got the mango

Last time we talked bout how Ganesh came to being , how he got his

name, his new head yada yada yada

 

Fast forward a lil bit ...

 

Ganesh now has a lil brother Kanda (his brother not Kanda Aran from

New Mexico) who is a whiz kid in his own right, and we'll chat

about him sometime soon.

 

So anyways, alls well at Kailash - Shiva is happy, Parvati is

happy , Ganesh is happy, Kanda is happy .... you get the idea

.... they were ALL happy.

 

Then Narada decides to pay a visit.

 

Now Narada, though a good guy, is as Maa sometimes calls people when

they have been mischievous - a "naughty boy". He likes to stir up

things , and though they end well, he closely resembles hurricane

Ivan in the mess he can create in people's lives.

 

So Narada walks upto Shiva and Parvati and asks how's things, how

the kiddies doin and chews the fat a bit.

 

Then he presents a nice juicy mango to S & P and says grandly "With

love to your kiddies from me" and departs having done the damage.

 

Now anyone with two kids will know, you cant jes present them one

item and expect them to share it fair and square , with no fuss,

fights and tears.

 

Ganesh and Kanda were no exception - both wanted the entire mango,

and both wanted it NOW !

 

S&P confer and suggest a competition - the person who makes the

quickest trip around the world got the mango.

 

The brothers , fiercely competitive as ever, agreed.

 

Kanda takes off on his vehicle - a BMW Peacock 7l - he has a fleet

to choose from the Mandir.

 

Ganesh , as y'all all know has a mouse for a vehicle. And Ganesh ,

smart guy , knew he couldnt overtake Kanda's peacock with his mouse.

 

Thinking fast, he quickly circumambulates ( walks clockwise around)

his parents and falls at their feet .

 

He sez - "Arent one's parents the entire world? I have now gone

around the entire world by jes circumambulating you"

 

S & P , naturally pleased by the flattery, hand over the mango to

Ganesh.

 

Then Kanda the Kid brother comes back and is upset by this parental

injustice and needs lifelong therapy which the HMO refuses to

cover ... but I digress ...we'll talk about this super young man at

a later date.

 

JAI GANESH !
