Question for Swamiji

Swamiji,

 

I do a practice on occasion with mahamrityunjaya mantra from the Netra

Tantra (you may have seen me doing it, I don't know for sure). In this

practice Chandra has a prominent place.

 

My experience with mahamrityunjaya suggests it is closely connected

with the energy of Chandra or Soma.

 

If I am right about this, my question is, why is this so?

 

I would expect it to be more closely connected to Surya and Agni,

since Rudra is the devata, and since it is known primarily as a

healing mantra (I always associate healing with Surya and Agni).

 

If I'm wrong about this, is it possible my misapprehension is due to

the tantra I learned and practiced it with?
