Guest guest
I had so much fun celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. I started my worship at 4:05 am PDT on Friday. I did 4 pujas in all, going through the entire Devi Mandir Ganesh Puja book each time. The exciting part was the mid-day puja. I invited 2 women to the puja. I have never done this before. I have always done my sadhana in solitude. I did the puja with all the offerings with my beautiful murti of Lord Ganesh at the center of the celebration. His mom and dad (Lord Shiva and Devi) were at his side and our Gurus were in attendance. As I sat in front of them and chanted the mantras I was filled with joy. The sanskrit flowed smoothly and felt totally natural. The bhognaivedyam was in the form of cherry turnovers because I know Ganesh loves sweets and the color red. He was wearing a cherry colored necklace and had a red cloth. After the puja, my guests honored me by accepting the madhuparkam and the blessing of Ganesh and shared in the prasad. Then one of the women sat down and read through the entire Puja in English and asked questions as she went along. She even read Swamiji's commentary at the end of the book. It was so wonderful to share in the joy of worship with others who had never experienced a puja before. It helped that they already knew something of Lord Ganesh and had favorable feelings toward Him. I finished the worship at 2:35 a m on Saturday. I know that the week of preparation with our Ganesh sankalpa gave me the focus and energy to complete this wonderful day of worship to our Lord Ganesh. What a privilege! When my guests left, I continued my worship and entered into deeper meditation. I felt so truly grateful for all that our Gurus have taught us and made available to us. I felt a lightness of spirit and a state of bliss. Jai Ganesh Jai Maa Jai Shiva Jai Gurus Ardis
