Guest guest
Dear all, Can people share what they plan to do during Navaratri ? As discussed in the forum, people are willing to spend money to fly resources over to do a Navachandi yagna for them - such is the power of the yagna. And Swamiji has given us the book, mp3 CD, this forum, the saturday satsang, to discuss this valuable scripture. I pray that one day , we will ALL be able to conduct our own Navachandi yagnas in our own homes. But , the journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step - and we have all taken that step by being a part of this forum. The next step is to cultivate our learning of the Chandi and its chanting. I was talking with a dear relative today and we were discussing how she, a (relative (pun intended)) newbie to the Chandi could prepare for Navaratri. One valuable suggestion came up and I share it with you. Everyone could practice chanting the thirteen chapters - the first chapter on the first day, along with Siddha Kunjika Stotram, the first and second on the second day with SKS , and so on ... so that in the next two weeks,we would have all have chanted 13 chapters on the 13th day with SKS . Once we are comfortable with the core of the Chandi, we could then chant the remaining chapters of the Seedha Path. And lo behold , before we know it , we are PREPARED for Navaratri. We will then be in a position to chant atleast the Seedha Path for the nine days of the festival. Remember , in chapter 12 of the Chandi, She says - in chapter 12 - verses 12 and 13, "At the great annual worship which is performed in the autumn season, those who hear this poem of my glory and are filled with devotion will be freed by my grace from all afflictions and endowed with wealth, grain and progeny. Of this there is no doubt". LET'S TAKE HER UP ON IT !!! This preparation strategy is just a suggestion and each person can feel free to modify it to suit their individual situations. It would be great to get the Navaratri Bhav going. Chandi Maa Ki JAI !!!! Love Latha
