So there She sits for us , watching us perform the puja to her. Once we are complete we respectfully bid her goodbye. And Visarjan is the goodbye. Swamiji has included visarjan in all the advanced puja books. Swamiji has demonstrated the visarjana mudra which we have posted in the files section in a little video clip. Can you please look for it - it is called Visarjana.wmv . There is also a quictime version of it called visarjana.mov Jai Maa Latha
Guest guest
Thanks Latha. Now what happens when you do not perform Visarjana. Here's the reason why I am asking. Several years ago I was drawn to worship Maa Durga in a small silver idol I had. It was most amazing experience.I could very strongly feel mother manifest in that idol. Of course I was unaware of sadhana or paractices at that time so I only worshipped when I was moved to do so and gradually I kind of lost that connection.I still have this idol on my altar, along with another picture of Maa Durga. Before last Navratri, I had a dream in which I saw that my altar was all cleaned and arranged for the puja, but that small silver idol was removed. Since then I am wondering if I should do a visarjana of that idol. I have sat on that dream for months because I do not want to let go. I do not have the clarity of really understanding the significance of my dreams. Please let me know what do you all think. Please Latha if you could also ask Swamijee about this, it would be great. Thanks a ton, Ruchi Latha Nanda [lathananda] Tuesday, September 28, 2004 11:28 AM To Chris/Ruchi on Visarjana >How is visarjana performed...anyone know? > > Chris > Why is visarjana performed . > > Thanks, > Ruchi Dear Chris/Ruchi, Visarjana is performed at the end of the puja to release the deity back to the unmanifest. ie the deity came from the unmanifest , to manifest into our puja . Guest guest
it is difficult to interperet a dream and easy to misinterpret. maybe it means, going beyond form. it's tempting sometime to be too literal. its also tempting to put too much on intuition. choices: 1. do what guru says, if he says anything 2. remember sahdana is elastic, it can take any form, it can change jai maa! , "Khanna, Ruchi" <Ruchi.Khanna@d...> wrote: > Thanks Latha. > > Now what happens when you do not perform Visarjana. > Here's the reason why I am asking. Guest guest
Hi Latha, Yes, I remember the visarjana mudra now, but I couldn't find the mantras. The only puja books I have are beginners Shiva and Shiva Puja and Advanced Yajna. Do you, off hand, know where it is in there (don't spend a lot of time looking for it if you don't know).
