And we are closing in on the weekly Chandi sankalpa- we end on 16th October to coincide with Navaratri. We started in the spring navaratri and ending in the Fall one. Good timing huh. Anyways , here is a small (only 10 qstns) quiz to keep us learning the Chandi and checking to see where we stand. Please send the answers to the quiz to my personal email account. We would like to keep the group guessing as much as possible so it is better if we do not post the answers out just yet. Here we go ..... ===================================== 1) How many episodes are there in the Chandi ? 2) What are the angas or the limbs (6 of them) of the Chandi.? 3) In which portion of the Chandi are the descriptions of the Goddess Mahakali, Mahalakshmi and Mahasaraswati expanded upon in greater detail than the dhyanams ? (Hint - It is an anga) 4)What are the sanskrit names for the demons 'Passion' and 'Anger'? 5) Which hymn to the Goddess is also called 'Aparajitastuti' . 6)In which chapter is the Goddess called Kaushiki ? And why ? 7)If you had only a limited time and could only chant one episode of the Chandi, what should you chant ? 8)Kali is also called Chamunda. Why ? 9)You might know that the first set of Navadurgas are Sailaputri, Brahmacharini, .... Siddhidatri. Who are the second set of Navadurgas and in which chapter do they appear ? and here is the clincher 10) In which Chapter (of the core 13 chapters) does the word "Chandi" used as a name for the Goddess FIRST appear ?
