To Latha and All on Navaratri Preparation

When I came into the group, which I love, I apparently didn't

understand the preparation for Navaratri. I was on my third

re-reading of the Chandi at the time, and, for the project, I got

started off on the wrong foot, then got behind, then felt guilty,

then felt like I shoulda/coulda/woulda. I left the church into which

my parents put me, in great part, because of feelings like these, and

I don't believe they are productive. Nor is there any reasonable way

for me now to catch up.

 

So, I am going to return to what I was doing ~ my personal sankalpa of

my third re-reading of the Chandi. Each time I read it, I find new

truths, new beauty. In this spirit I would like to share with the

group one of my favorite passages ~ it is short, but it is poetry,

metaphor, and magnificent truth:

 

"You are the word of praise by which we are singing; you are all

creation existing as the mouth of the universe."

 

Each time I re-read the above, I get a thrill all through my body. To

me it is, in a sense, the heart and soul of our love for Ma Durga.

 

I will stay with the group and hope that whatever the next project is,

I can get on board right away so I don't end up in this situation
