Dear Steve ~ you summed this quandry quite well. When I feel my sadhana has become a big to do list, that is when the feelings of my old religious belief system come to the fore: I feel guilty; I am not good enough; I must be bad ... etc. The past couple of nights Jesus came to me. (Okay, I know, I know ... but it is true.) He said: "You are making this too complicated my daughter. I am with you. Just Love." Then He got up and floated away, becoming smaller and smaller, disappearing into the infinite with a little pop of white light. I have to be very careful about these old feelings because they are the demons that will cause me to stop my sadhana. But what you said above, that is it, in a nutshell. Guest guest
i'm really glad you commented as i was a little afraid what i wrote might be misinterpreted as a criticism ... it's particularly challenging with this particular way, where there are so many practices. my feeling is, they are all more or less portals. we can only walk thru one at a time. it is the sum total of all these access points, we arrive at where we are. it is cumulative to be sure, but if we look at it that way too much, we deprive ourselves of the bliss, the grace, whatever we want to call it. we don't want to mortalize our sadhana if we can help it. the more it is a happy choice, the more one will do it, like anything. no one wants to join the armed forces, everyone wants to go to a party ... so we can make it a party, even though it is also a war. hard to explain. maybe, it's work, and it's play, over time a balance develops, and we hit a stride for a while ... the goal is a state of mind, not a number of malas. the number of malas support the goal of peace of mind, enough experience of unity to begining to get a glimpse. all the puja, all the japa, everything is to focus attention and feeling so we can see beyond all this fragmentation and know unity. love, love, love, i hope i said this alright. too many words on my part to be sure. steve , nierika@a... wrote: > > > Steve wrote: > > quiet, quiet, quiet ... sadhana not being a big to-do list, like the > world. sadhana is one thing to do, not many. > > > > Dear Steve ~ you summed this quandry quite well.
