Guest guest
Dear All, I was browsing the web , searching for any insight on "Truth" and "Ultimate Truth". It came as a pleasant surprise to me that one of the chapters of the Bhagavad Gita - Chapter 7 - is called "Knowledge of the Ultimate Truth". Also, reading this chapter was like meeting an old friend after a very long time. I remember attending Gita lectures over ten years ago and at that point, the presenter was focussing on Chapter 7.. so reading it today brought back some nostalgic happy memories. What struck a chord was the content of two of the verses and how they tie nicely with what I am learning in the Chandi now. >From Chapter 7 of the Bhagavad Gita , we have Verse 13 This complete universe is deluded by the threefold condition of the modes of the external energy (Sattva/Rajas/Tamas) ; certainly no one knows Me, who is beyond them, immutable and Supreme. Verse 14: This divine illusion of Mine, consisting of the three modes of external energy, certainly is difficult to overcome, but those who surrender unto Me, they only are able to surmount this illusory energy. >From Chapter 1 of the Chandi , we have Verses 54 to 58 "... the Supreme Lord, is put into the sleep of the divine union by the Great Measurement (Mahamaya) and therefore the world is deluded by Her. She, this Supreme Goddess, the Great Measurement of Consciousness, attracts the perceiving capacity of all sensible beings with such force as to thrust them into the ignorance of egotistic attachment...... it is She who, after satisfaction, bestows upon humans the blessing of liberation...." Verse 91 and 92 "...Freed by Her, the Lord of the World, the Causer of Being, rose from His couch on the Infinite Ocean of Being...." End of quote. ie both the Gita and the Chandi say the same thing ... when we surrender to the Goddess - the energy - She is pleased and wakes up Vishnu - the Supreme Consciousness Hmmm, looks like Lord Krishna (in the Gita) and Medhas Muni (in the Chandi) agreed on the same story :-) Jai Maa !
