Guest guest
93 [This classification i provide is based on oral explanation i got. I cannot give any shastric references now, `coz my library is far away.] Grihavadhuta - "half-avadhuta" who lives with wife-yogini and follows certain practices given in avadhuta-diksha by Guru. A kind of "monk in the world". Purnavadhuta - "full avadhuta" who is practically identical to general sannyasi in his vratas, but follows kaula path. Shaivavadhuta - similar to previous one but with stress onto shaiva practices. I assume similar to pashupata, kalamukha, virashaiva and natha avadhutas. Guhyavadhuta - "secret avadhuta". Either the one who is avadhuta sectretly without revealing his status, or hermit. Kaulavadhuta - one who follows vamachara path. In society kaulavadhuta may take on any avadhuta life style - that is of griha, purna, shaiva or guhya. Hamsavadhuta - one who has reached the goal, totally free, satkaula.
