Guest guest
Dear All, Shree Maa suggested that I share the Sadhana Panchakam by Shankaracharya with the group. She said and I paraphrase "It is good to remember these verses after every festival , so read it and then share with the group" Maa, your word is my command ! The Sadhana Panchakam is available in the Advanced Shiva Puja book. It is translated as the five verses written in praise of spiritual discipline, written in 700 AD. I will share one verse a day for the next five days. Here is Verse 1 ====================================================== Always study words of wisdom, with all your capacity act in accordance and perform the discipline of these words, and following the systems of worship they enumerate, make the worship of the Supreme Lord , and dont allow your consciousness to contemplate adverse desires. Wipe all the dross of sin from your mind, search for faults in the pleasures of the world, search your own soul for true knowledge, and very quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home. ========================================================== Jai Maa ! Jai Shiva ! Jai Shankara ! Love Latha

Guest guest
Namaste Steve, The translation is by Swamiji - I interpret it as it is - not to get attached to one's home, but I am sure that term is applicable in several levels. Will also forward to Swamiji and let you know his response.
