Dear Steve ~ unless I am very mistaken, I have always understood the word, 'sankalpa,' to mean a very strong intention. I could make a sankalpa about changing my diet (which I am beginning to do). I could make a sankalpa about not taking other people's emotional responses to me so personally. Or I could make a sankalpa to say a certain number of repetitions of a prayer (which actually, I have ~ the 32 names of Durga, 11 times and reading one chapter of the Chandi every day). I think your idea to have a sankalpa about the Guru Gita as the focus is very excellent, since, as you said, Maa suggested this as a focus for the online class. If I have misrepresented the word, 'sankalpa,' then I hope someone will set me straight. : ) Jai Maa ~ Linda
