There is a beautiful sutra among the Kasyapa Sutras (# 15 ) which says the Guru is the Cause of all Causes. "Srigurunathah sarvakaranakaranam" from the book titled "The Guru and Goddess" page 104. Swamiji has expanded on the above sutra and IMHO definitely a"must read". He says "The entire Guru Gita could be a commentary on this sloka."
