Guest guest
"Lakshmi is so well loved because of her extremely kind nature. Her husband, Vishnu, administers justice, but Lakshmi is incapable of punishing anyone. She is so soft-hearted that if you find yourself in trouble with Vishnu, you can run to Lakshmi and ask her to help out. She'll do everything she can to get Vishnu to ease up on you. In this respect, she's very much like Mary, mother of Jesus, in Roman Catholicism. She intercedes for you with God." Om srim laksmyai namah (Citation for quoted text is available.) Guest guest
But I don't want Vishnu to ease up on me. Nor do I want Shiva or Chandi to ease up on me. Everyonce in a while they do, because of their compassion at my suffering, but honestly, the faster they come, the better off I am. Am I nuts? Guest guest
Namaste, Have a copy of the Chandi? By Swami Satyananda Saraswati? This song is found twice in the Chandi, this is the one I found while looking for it. Chapter 5, Verse 8: The God's said: We bow to the Goddess, to the Great Goddess, to the Energy of Infinite Goodness at all times we bow. We bow to Nature, to the Excellent One, with discipline we have bowed down. It's on page 195 of my copy. There are three prints of the book that I know of, so you may have to look for it. The Main verses read like this: (starting on page 197) Look for these words: ya devi sarva bhutesu buddhi rupena samstitha | namastasyai || namastasyai || namastasyai namo namah Its one of the first songs I learned at the Temple and its one of the most devotional. Please sing that for her. If you don't know the music or can't pronounce the Sanskrit, then read the English out loud with meaning, mindfulness, and desire for truth. Guest guest
Dear Brother I do have a copy of the Chandi . I do read it . I need to go look at that verse. I am feeling disheartened because they have just demolished a wonderful old Bhairava temple here in Singapore. It been around for half a century and its bursting my heart to not have it around . There are such beings of beauty there. The thought of the 8 foot Kali Ma statue being smashed just is braking my heart. Yet..everything is HEr . the beginning , the end. everything is HEr. ..I know She has the reasons. bless you and thank you Venya
Guest guest
*hugs* The destruction of that statue was just evidence of physical impermanence. But Kali is truly within us and is permanent. Brian At 06:21 PM 11/5/2004, you wrote: >Dear Brother > >I do have a copy of the Chandi . I do read it . Guest guest
Dear Venya Jai Mata Ji. Why did they choose to demolish the Bhairav Temple? And what prompted them to smash a Kali Maa Statue? Iam shocked. Jay. > > Sheila Rajamanikam [kaliamman] > Saturday, November 06, 2004 2:22 PM > > RE: Lakshmi never lacks for devotees... > > > > Dear Brother > > I do have a copy of the Chandi . Namaste Dear Venya, We are so sorry to hear that. Valli and I with our 2 oldest children were in Singapore twice in 1986. We stayed at Raffles and spent a lot of time at the Sri Mariamman Temple and are saddened to hear that the Bhairava Temple was demolished.
