Dear Brian ~ hypocrisy has never been something i've struggled with in myself, but it is something I have struggled mightily over regarding other people's behavior. Even after 56 years, I am still surprised and boggled when someone says something and does the oppositie, or makes a promise and takes it back, or seems to be a friend only to turn on you over the slightest upset. I especially struggle with this in my family because their behavior has never matched their words. "We love you." But we're going to punish you, ignore you, judge you, shut you out, and castigate you if we have the opportunity. So my struggle with the demon is with my emotional responses to other people's hypocrisy. When I feel betrayed, it literraly makes me sick. I know it is there behavior, but I have always had trouble with boundaries (is there a boundary issue demon? LOL), and as soon as someone behaves hypocritally towards me, my first response is to turn on myself (NOT a good idea). So this is really a good topic and demon for me to think about. Sarawswati, the Goddess of Knowlege has also been called the Goddess of True Knowledge, and maybe this is something I should take to her. To give the the awareness that people are doing the best they know how with what they have, even if it seems hurtful; to know that I don't have to feel like I've gotten run over by a truck; to know that, even if it hurts, other people are still part of the That, and the sooner I realize it, accept them for who they are, and let go the hurt, the sooner I can do what I am supposed to be doing. Thank you for bringing up a very provocative demon. : ) Jai Maa ~ Linda
