Guest guest
Dear Group, I want to share a recent experience that I think is appropriate to the discussion on bearing up under our karma and the relief that our beautiful Mother sometimes bestows. Recently, I received word that a very dear friend of mine was in serious heart failure. Doctors were reluctant to project how much longer she might live, perhaps two months at the most. The cardiology department of the hospital was very interested in the case because they had only ever seen one other case like this one. Upon coming home from the hospital I was inconsolable, unable to tell my wife Karen what the situation was. I was really quite desperate. At that moment the furthest thing from my mind was accepting my karma with grace and fortitude. I was so distraught with grief that it never dawned on me to seek relief from the Divine Mother. The following morning as I tried to do my puja through muffled sobs, a very distinct and reassuring voice came into my consciousness. The voice was very clear about the situation and that all would be well. From that moment on I was okay. The pain and suffering that this situation brought on did not make me a stronger, more resolute person, but when I heard the Divine Mother say, “Dog will be okay,” I became a more devout person. Yes, it was my beautiful nine-year-old English setter that was near death. Today she is alive and well, running and chasing birds and playing in the back yard. We should embrace our karma but we should also remember that the Divine Mother is always seeking to relieve our suffering. Namaste
