The thought of the 8 foot Kali Ma statue being smashed just is braking my heart. Dear Venya ~ I am so sorry to hear about the temple. Just last night I was reading in my "To Amma's Children" book, and She was talking about how so many of the temples in India and other places have fallen into disrepair. She urged her devotees (those who are near any of these temples) to try and help restore the temple and the worship to the diety installed there. So I am sad to hear about a statue of Kali Ma being smashed. Yet, Kali is the One who eats the ego and rids the world and us of what we don't need. So, as you said, She has Her reasons.
