Jai Ma! What a wonderful thing to say, and, by the way, that is one of my favorite songs. I will pray that all the singing will go well on Thursday, but with such devotion as you show, I don't see how there could be any problem. And how lucky you are to have a kirtan group, even if they don't have much experience chanting. There are so many wonderful Hindu chant cds, so you could get one and learn some new things. Chants are alwayse simple, in every culture. I learned that in an ethnomusicology class that I was so lucky to be able to take in college. The reason is so everybody can learn quickly and follow for the "call" and "response" parts. If you want to get a cd to start with, one of my favorites is "Live on Earth" by Krishna Das. Krishna Das followed Baba Ram Das for a bit, then went to India and lived at the ashram of Neem Karoli Baba. At some point, Baba told him to go back to America and do what he loves ~ singing for god(dess). "LIve on Earth" has so many wonderful bhajans, some are about Durga and are so beautiful, they go straight to my heart. Another good one by Krishna Das is "One Track Heart." Anyhow, I'm sure all will be better than well on Thursday. Jai Maa ~ Linda
