These are the only blessings of lasting value." Dear Laksmyai ~ everything you post about Laksmi increases my understanding. For my birthday last year my sister sent me a photo of a beautiful Laksmi statuette. I put it on my wall where She can kind of watch over my kitchen area and puja altar. Two days ago, I was all gung ho to clean up my house (trailer) for Laksmi. You wouldn't think two rooms would take very much effort. Luckily, I started with my puja altar, which is on one side of my kitchen counter (it is a very small counter as you can probably imagine). First I was going to dust off and clean all my pictures and other puja items and then clean the counter and the underneath side of the overhanging cabinets, which were very dusty. By the time I was just about done dusting, my body crashed. My energy disappeared; my pain spiked; all my other symptoms spiked, and I felt sick as a dog. Inside I though, "NO, I just wanted to do this one thing." But I had to go and rest for several hours. Later I was able to finish the cleaning of my altar area, but that was as far as I got. Somehow, though, I did not feel bad about myself as I normally would. I felt that Lakmi would understand and accept that I did what I could, and it was for Her. I love the explanation of the Laksmi mantra that you posted a few days ago. I read it last night, really trying to imbibe the meanings of the words...and especially shrim meaning peace in the mind, peace in the heart, and peace beyond. Thank you for increasing my understanding of Laksmi. Jai Sri Laksmi ~ Linda
