Guest guest
Hello Jonathan, I dont know the actual legal/religious steps to becoming one but here is my two cents. The term "Hinduism" is a recent invention. The original religion is called "Sanatan Dharma" or the "Eternal way of life". This religion accepts as many paths to Self Realization as there are people. So you could still legally be of any faith, but be a practicing Hindu. Best wishes Latha , "Schrodinger_I" <schrodinger_i> wrote: > > > Can anyone tell me what the process is for conversion to Hinduism? > > Regards, > Jonathan

Guest guest
What is a Hindu? A Hindu is one who abhors violence in every form, who always practices harmonious behavior, who loves wisdom, respects all teachers of wisdom and practices one pointed meditation: Such a one may be said to be a Hindu. Being a Hindu has nothing to do with a country of birth, the color of your skin, or what your mother or father is. Being a Hindu is an attainment. Our Creed We believe in One All-Pervading, Infinite Divinity, which resides in every being of Creation, and is especially manifest in the hearts of all devotees. That this Deity inspires within seekers sincerity, love, wisdom and joy, and the highest respect for all that lives. That all bodies are temples for the holy spirit, and that the duty of man is to honor God through loving service to all created beings, and attentive devotion in the pursuit of self-realizåtion. From the booklet "Gems of Wisdom from Shree Maa and Swami Satyananda Saraswati" compiled by Parvati, published by Devi Mandir Publications, 1998 On Nov 18, 2004, at 10:04 PM, Schrodinger_I wrote: > > > Can anyone tell me what the process is for conversion to Hinduism? > > Regards, > Jonathan > > > Sponsor > > > <111704_1104_f_300250a.gif> > <l.gif> > > Links > > • > / > > • > > > • Terms of > Service. > > Attachment: (text/enriched) [not stored]
Guest guest
Wanna be closer to him? (or her?) Congratulations, you're a Hindu. Baptisms and fancy ceremonies are un-necessary but can be arranged if you like. We can even give you directions on how to initiate yourself into the path of god worship. It all starts with a single, healthy desire. "I want peace in my life." Hinduism is one of those religions that is completely open to the teachings of any teacher no matter caste, creed, discipline, color, background, etc etc etc. That's one of the reasons I embrace its teachings and make them my own. Guest guest
There's not really a conversion. If you just start studying, you're on the way. It's a path. The path itself is beautiful. Don't worry about reaching a goal, that will take care of itself. Swami Ji says that becoming a Hindu is an attainment, rather than a religion. You're very welcome here.
