Guest guest
"The Mahalakshmi Stotram, which is sung all over India, first appears in an ancient text, the Brihat Stotra Ratnakarah, a compilation of songs to many deities. It is Indra, the Lord of Heaven, who is praising Mahalakshmi in this hymn. It is also called the Shri Mahalakshmyashtakam, ashtakam meaning that it has eight verses, plus two additional verses explaining the merits to be gained by singing it once, twice, and three times. It is said that when we sing this hymn three times, Mahalakshmi grants us the highest wealth, spiritual wealth. Thus we can appreciate the beauty and fullness of everyday life, and also come to know the radiant divinity within each human heart." Om srim laksmyai namah (Citation for quoted text is available.)
