Guest guest
I was talking with a disciple of Maa and Swamiji yesterday. A hard- nosed , down-to-earth and successful businessman of the world, he spends a good two hours EVERY day chanting the Chandi. I was telling him how I show up for the Chandi every Sunday but of late wasnt feeling the "high" and was asked him how he kept his motivation alive He said and I paraphrase "I do it for the love of chanting. I do it because I see its effects on me and it spills over on everything I do - my relationships, my work ,my attitude and the blessings that have poured onto my loved ones. " And then he paused and asked me "Why do YOU chant ?" I thought this over and said "For the same reasons that you do but sometimes I seem to lose sight of the goal" And then he said "Keep your "WHY" strong. If you have a strong compelling reason WHY you want to chant, you will show up everyday" My question to you , dear readers , WHY do YOU chant ? Hmmmmm as I write this I am remembering the words from the Kilakam of the Chandi " When the blessing of the Supreme Sovereign is welfare, health, fulfillment, the destruction of all enmity, and the ultimate liberation, why will people not sing Her praise ?" Guest guest
Jai Maa, Lathaji, This is what it says in Kilakam of CHANDI: " When the blessing of the Supreme Sovereign is welfare, health, fulfillment, the destruction of all enmity, and the ultimate liberation, why will people not sing Her praise ?" But for people like me, who have not got this kind of blessings, infact it has been almost the opposite, then it is VERY HARD to be Motivated. At such time, the motivation that works for me is that " I pray, Chant, do puja etc because SHE DESERVES TO BE PRAYED TO. She is the ULTIMATE, In the BIG Picture, the BLESSINGS are definately there, even if I personally did not get them." It is still very hard, and at such time Satsang, or talk with other Devotees help me. Bharat Patel ===== With Best Regards
Guest guest
why have devotional practice. this egoic life is wholly inadequate. it will not do. it does not suffice. it is filled with conflict and suffering. we reach out. and in. to the infinite. that is devotion. it is a core impulse. it doesn't even require a reason. like breathing or laughing. How motivating when you are always heard, Why not speakup. With Love Kanda
