Dear Linda,

 

Shukla refers to the waxing moon and Chaturdasi is the 14th day of

the fortnight.

 

In this case it refers to the Thanksgiving day, which according to

the Hindu calendar fell on the fourteenth day of the waxing

fortnight.

 

If you like to know more about the Hindu Calendar, please go to the

group's website (after logging into ) and check out the

folder 'Calendar' under the Files section of the group.
