Guest guest
"When Lakshmi is worshipped, she is visualised as an independent entity, not as the consort of Vishnu. Images of Lakshmi seated on a lotus, holding pot overflowing with grain and gold is commonly enshrined in the pooja room of most Hindu households. In most homes the image of Lakshmi is never kept alone as the restless goddess may just slip away. Ganapati is kept beside her as he is the lord of obstacles who prevents her departure. Saraswati is also kept beside her as the goddess of wealth does not like to leave if there is the slightest possibility of the goddess of knowledge getting all the attention."
