Dear Steve ~ I hesitated to post this before because this is not a name that I got from my guru, but I will share the story anyhow, especially since I intend to ask for a name this year. I think my sister was tired of me not having a name, so she gave me one, Vimali. She told me that this was the Energy of Gayatri, and since I love the Gayatri mantra, it seemed wonderful. Yet I have chosen not to use it, because, well, actually, my sister is what I once heard Swamiji refer to as an (my) upa guru ~ the guru that leads you to your guru. Since she has led me to Amma, Karunamayi and Shree Maa and Swami, maybe that does give her some sway to give me an interim name. : ) Jai all upa gurus, Jai all gurus, Jai are para gurus, Jai all parapara gurus, and so forth ~ Linda P.S.
