Guest guest
Jai Maa, On Dec 26, my guru was scheduled to give a Christmas message by teleconference to devotees in various countries. Because the earthquake/tsunamis had happened by then, she discussed this tragedy a bit in the course of her comments. The transcript of the teleconference can be found at the following link (the first 2 paragraphs are spoken by Swami Vijayeswarananda, then Amma starts with the 3rd para): http://www.karunamayi.org/News/2004-Ammaschristmasmessage.shtml Somewhere in her comments, the position of Saturn was mentioned as affecting our world. Saturn is associated with Saturday, so it is very significant if we can chant the Mrutyunjaya Mantra for world peace on Saturdays. This helps to reduce the negative impact of Saturn's rays on the Earth. Of course, chanting on any day is always good, but there is a special significance for Saturday when dealing with Saturn energy. A number of holy people have mentioned that the year 2005 may be difficult for certain areas in the world, due to different kinds of disasters. In addition, 2008-2011 could also be difficult, possibly due to war. However, these difficulties will pave the way to a brighter future for the entire world, possibly starting in 2012. I remember reading in a book that Shree Maa had said that special children started to be born back in the 80s, and I suspect these children have some role to play in bringing our world to a more peaceful state. My guru recently said that she has been teaching so many Devi mantras and stotras because if more and more people worship Divine Mother selflessly, the world's condition can improve and world peace can become possible. She has requested everyone to chant, meditate and pray selflessly for all beings, especially Bhu Devi, Mother Earth. I know that Maa and Swamiji are teaching puja, Chandi path, and all the other powerful Devi practices so that we will have all the tools we need to help bring about a brighter future. I have heard that devotees of Divine Mother have no religion, because their religion is the religion of divine love. My guru has said that innumerable souls are working now to help our world, and we can choose to become a part of that. Just as Maa used to pour Ganges water in American rivers to spread positive vibrations, we can add the positive energy of our selfless prayers and practices to the vast mindstream of our world. Just think how polluted the Earth's aura is from so much anger, hatred, sadness, and injustice. This subtle pollution, combined with the physical pollution, contributes to natural disasters. We who have taken birth at this time have a real opportunity to help heal the world, and because of our association with holy people, we have very powerful tools at our disposal. I feel in my heart that the tremendous amount of sadhana performed by Maa and Swamiji on American soil, and really just their physical presence here, is a wonderful divine protection for all Americans. Whatever sadhana we do is a protection for us and others. I know that the brilliant and auspicious energy generated by the sacred mantras and meditations performed by spiritual people all around the world will join together to help neutralize the negativity affecting our planet. If anyone does not know how to chant a sankalpa for world peace, they can just chant any peace prayers at the end of their practice, or they can pray for world peace and universal welfare in their own language after their sadhana. This will spread the positive vibrations of one's sadhana to the whole world. Some common peace prayers are Om shaantih shaantih shaantihi and Lokaah samastaah sukhino bhavantu (x3) and Sarvesham swastir bhavatu Sarvesham shaantir bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham puurnam bhavatu My personal intuition, and maybe I'm just imagining things, is that devotees who have taken birth now have come with a special mission: to contribute to the healing of this world through their sadhana and prayers. Let all who feel inspired towards this sacred task contribute whatever time they can devote to the cause of world peace and happiness. Know that there is tremendous unseen support for such selfless activities.
