Guest guest
Dear Friends, Aum Namah Shivayah! A small story. A few years ago, my wife and I visited Devi Mandir for the first time. Our Beloved Swamiji was leading the chanting at the havan (heaven) kund. There were 20-25 of us. In the morning we chanted the Chandi and then we chanted from the Advanced Siva Puja. We then stopped for the lunch break. Swamiji announced that we would start agin at 1 PM. I wanted to eat something tasty and told my wife that instead of eating at the Ashram (read bland food), let us go out and eat a sandwich at the shop which is a few miles outside the Mandir (toward Napa). Big Mistake. We come back and it is 1:05 when I reach the Yagna place. Everyone is assembled and they are waiting for me. Big Oops. Now the lace on my shoe is playing tricks as it refuses to get undone and I want to slink in. At that point, Swamiji calls out my name, "Srinivas". I am feeling bad, big time. But then the chanting continues with Our Beloved Swamiji leading with the same characteristic vigor and love. At the end, He blesses us individually with the beautiful chant from the Advanced Shiva Puja. Remorseful, I approach Him and mumble, "Sorry Swamiji, I was late" Swamiji quickly points to the Fire and said, "Apologize to Him, not to Me. Then He added, You can be late to work, but never be late for Worship." By some miracle, I have taken this as positive advice. I think about it often. Personally, it meant that I should reduce my attachment to work and focus on worship. I find that on innumerable occassions, when we give priority to Worship, She takes care of your work. I pray for the constant faith that She always will. And by the way. I don't think I went for lunch to that shop again With love and prayers, srinivasan
Guest guest
Dear Srini, Thank you for sharing that story. It is always inspiring to hear from people regarding any interchanges that they have had with Maa and Swamiji. I try to share them as much as I can , but I love to hear from others. I invite more members to share any inspirational stories about Shree Maa and Swamiji. Jai Maa Nanda , "ammasmkd" <r_srinivasan@e...> wrote: > > > Dear Friends, > > Aum Namah Shivayah!
